Project Management Processes Overview

There are a number of Project Management Processes that incorporate the concepts of product based planning. These are:

The PRINCE2™ Process developed by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) in the United Kingdom (UK) includes a Product Based Planning Technique. The description of this technique is very good and is a good reference for understanding product based planning.

The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) developed by the Project Management Institute in the USA includes many of the concepts of product based planning.

The Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) Atern incorporates many of the concepts of product based planning. Where PRINCE2™ is used with DSDM, these concepts are included automatically. A reference link is available to a book that demonstrates how to integrate DSDM Atern and PRINCE2.

The Team Software Process (TSP(SM)) and the Personal Software Process (PBP(SM)) incorporate many of the concepts of product based planning.
